The intent of this course is to gain further and practical
insight into missions by viewing it from two harmonious points. First,
material dictated by those who have personally received and accepted the
call to missions. Second, insight from a pastor's heart concerning the
"homeland" effort to support missions. . .both prayerfully and financially!
The student will learn the Biblical basis for missions, including a view
from the Old Testament, a view from the New Testament, and the motives and
means behind missions; as well as the history of missions which has led to
the continuation of missions in today's fundamental, local churches. The
student will gain insight as to the call, preparation, and sending of
missionaries today, through the local, New Testament church, and will
receive basic instruction on handling minor medical emergencies in a culture
where immediate, professional aid is not prevalent.

MISSIONS 2-A & 2-B
6
The intent of this course is to establish a clear
understanding of true missions in the heart and mind of every believer. For
those called to missions, it will be valuable training for spiritual and
cultural survival. For those not called, it will help them better relate to
the needs and pressures of missionaries! The student will experience the
life of a "called" missionary from the examination of one's heart, to the
effective ministering in a new culture. The student will face the practical
experiences of a missionary on the field from learning the language, to
dealing with stress, as well as learning how to effectively present their
call to the people from whom they need to gain support.
I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy
lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy
name. Psalm 138:2
