Dormitory Information

Massillon Baptist College (MBC) has two dormitories—the Mrs. Wanda B. Cummons Hall for ladies and the Dr. W. Jay Dolvin Hall for men.  Each dorm has wall-to-wall carpeting, built-in wardrobes with storage space, and study tables with chairs.  These rooms are spacious enough to accommodate four people.  Each room has bunk beds.  The rooms are electrically heated, with separate controls in each room for comfort.  The ladies dorm has sinks and counters in each room.

Each floor has a shower and lavatory facility.  Washers and dryers are provided in each building for convenience.  A dormitory supervisor’s apartment is also located in each building to assure safety, fellowship, and Godly counseling.

The dormitories are within easy walking distance of all classrooms so that a car is not essential.  However, for those who have automobiles, a lighted parking lot is located adjacent to the buildings.  Students must have proof of insurance on file in the college office before permission to drive or park on the campus may be granted.  For security purposes, parking tags will be issued to those students with automobiles.

Please note the following:

1. A room retainer fee of $25 must accompany each dormitory reservation form.  This fee is non-refundable and remains valid only one week after the date of registration and orientation nearest to the date reservation is received.

2. The cost of room and board during the regular school year (mid-Aug. through mid-May) is $2,475 ($1,237.50 per semester)—payable as follows:  August and May, @ $137.50; September through April, @ $275.  Hot lunch is available at the cafeteria Monday-Friday at a cost of $2.50 each.  Sack lunches may be ordered and purchased in advance at $2.50 each, for times when college is in session, but the cafeteria is closed.

3. Stoves, refrigerators, and microwaves are provided in both dorms for student use.  However, a student may have a small room refrigerator in his/her room at the extra cost of $5 a month.

4. All dormitory reservations should be received by the college office no later than ten (10) days prior to the semester registration and orientation dates.

5. All prospective dormitory occupants must be officially accepted as students of Massillon Baptist College before they will be permitted to move on campus.

6. Plan your arrival so that you can register and receive keys from the college office.  Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  If you must arrive after office hours, please notify the college office ahead of time to make arrangements—Phone:  330-830-5902; Fax:  330-830-5980.

7. Single students (under the age of 30) who move into the Massillon area must live in the dormitory facilities.  Single students who have lived in the Massillon area for more than six months prior to making application at Massillon Baptist College may continue to live in their current residences, or may choose to move into a dormitory.  Single students age 30 and over must have special permission from the Dean of Students to live in the dormitory.  All students moving to the Massillon area are required to become members of Massillon Baptist Temple while attending classes at MBC.

8. No student who has been married (whether separated, divorced, annulled, or widowed) may live in the dorms.
